Welcome
to the Bio Page. Self-grandizing? You bet!

I
thought I would introduce myself a bit since you're taking the time
to read my opinions and such. I've had a fairly normal, comfortable
life, replete with your standard childhood: little league, high
school cross-country & track; I sang
lead in a ska-punk band and I'm a fully
licensed and insured motorcyclist. But although
I received decent marks in class, ran fairly well & enjoy biking
the open road, it never really held my attention, inflamed my passions
the way gaming has. I've been an avid player of video games for
a solid fourteen years now and if anything I'm more enamored with
the media now than ever before. And who can blame me? Over the past
six years we've seen more advances in gaming technologies than in
the previous 10. But what interests me most is the idea of gaming
as literature. I feel that story driven games can be as immersive,
descriptive and moving as any book, look at games like those in
the Final Fantasy series or Shenmue and you'll get what I'm talking
about. These games are a good first step in the right direction,
establishing the argument that games can be art. Not all games mind
you but some of them.
My web-writing
endeavor started when I started contributing my game reviews to
pajamo.com. Pajamo
and I have tried to bring the site to a prominence that would
allow us to become full-fledged critics but
we have yet to realize that vision. However
I also must say that I'm very proud of the advancements that Pajamo
has made to that end.
This site was
originally intended to be a penny-arcade
clone, complete with comic strip. And while
that has yet to happen I am glad to say that I do feel that I have
provided some decent content over these first few months via my
commentary.
My goal for this
site is to provide you, the reader, with a bit of information or
perspective on gaming that you hadn’t had before. If that
ever happens, please let me know
