Crimson Sea

Dynasty Warriors, in outerspace! It had a story too, one that wasn't that bad.

Suikoden

Decent RPG stuff here, a good foundation for a great series.

Suikoden II

A damn good game. Tight story, with twists turns and multiple endings.

.hack Part 1

What can I say? The experiment in multimedia with Anime and games was interesting but the game itself was pretty lame and the story was paced so slowly I could be made to care any more.

Suikoden III

I replayed what I feel was the best game of last year. Wonderful stuff.

Animal Crossing

It had me in its web for a while, but the constant work to accumulate material goods made the budda sad.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Looks really cool, but the absence of voice acting made me look for something else to play. I still have my copy, I’m hoping to get a chance to play it someday.

Dynasty Warriors 4

More of the same, which is to say more of the good.

Enter the Matrix

Ok so it didn't live up to the hype, but I did manage to get through the repetitive gameplay in order to see the movie footage.

6/03 - Shadowbane

I had fun with this game at the beginning as you level terribly fast and it's always fun to learn about a brand new world. But the fact is the game is dying due to lack of players. The game wasn't set up to play as a loner as there are no quests of any kind. So after the first month I sorta got stuck.

7/16 - KotOR

So far this is my favorite for game of the year. Great story, good gameplay. Finally a chance to frolic in the Star Wars world that we love so dear.

7/30 Final Fantasy VI (FF 3 originally in the U.S. for the SNES)

A classic game. I was playing the port that they released for the Playstation. I was a bit disappointed to see that there were only 3 CGI movies given as a bonus. But nothing can take away from this game being simply brilliant. Fantastic story, great characters and a villain worthy of our collective wrath.

8/16 - Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8

8's not great. Koei improved on most of the personal interaction but the battles were sucked dry of any semblance of fun. I've been saying it for a while now but this proves it. I want the Dynasty Warriors engine for the battles in RTK.

8/27 - Soul caliber 2

I've only played this for a little bit but from what I can tell it's very faithful to its predecessor - which means its a very good game.

8/28 - Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Chaos Bleeds

I loved the television series. But the game features certain lame cliché game contrivances that make it hard to play.

December

A tactics game that incredibly funny and fun? You bet.

10/7 - Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

The first Final Fantasy game to appear on an American Nintendo in over nine years.

10/12 - Final Fantasy Tactics

As soon as this oldie light up the Playstation a smile hit my face. I knew, as Ray Charles used to say, "You've got the right one baby"

10/21 - ESPN NBA Basketball

The title doesn't rhyme with disappointment but it should.

10/29 - Final Fantasy XI

MMORPG, J-RPG style. Very well made, very addictive. I love this game so much I've asked it to marry me, we now have 3 children and are moving into a bigger house in the suburbs together.

11/1 - Top Spin

Best Tennis game since Virtua Tennis, complete with an online feature that is very smooth.

11/18 - Final Fantasy X-2

Squenix ventures forth into the realm of the sequel with chicksploitation 'a plenty. Still if you can handle the 180 degree change in mood, you pleasure will be X-2.

12-17 - Prince of Persia

I was very pleased to see that someone had finally created a character that had a number of cool moves to rival a certain fat Italian plumber. The other impression I had was that the game seemed to be a bit light on the action, opting for more jumping puzzles. Now don’t get me wrong. They’re good jumping puzzles, I just prefer my gameplay to be 80% smashy smashy, 20% puzzles/anything else.

Otogi: Myth of Demons

I haven't had a chance to finish this yet but it does have a quality to it, great mood.

12/28 - Warioware, Inc.

A breath of life for handheld gaming. This game is the Tetris of its generation.
